Planning Terms of Reference

TERMS OF REFERENCE

General.

To keep abreast of policy and other developments in planning and landscape issues which have significance, whether good or bad, for nature conservation and the countryside in Northern Ireland and to consult and inform the full Council on these matters.

Specific

Consider Planning and Landscape matters delegated to the Working Group from the full Council of CNCC, and to advise the full Council on these matters.
Monitor progress of and advise on ongoing Planning and Landscape issues and initiatives.
Provide a forum for discussion of Planning and Landscape issues that brings together CNCC, Planning Service and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA).
Liaise with other CNCC working Groups on the identification and stimulation of strategic research into areas affecting the future protection of the Northern Ireland landscape and planning policies that impact on this landscape.
Regularly report on activities of the Working Group to the full Council of CNCC, and to seek advice from full Council on the promotion of Working Group initiatives.
