RE: PROPOSED A4/A5 DUNGANNON TO BALLYGAWLEY ROAD DUELLING SCHEME

Thank you for your letter of the 18 February 2005 in connection with the above road works and I apologise for the delay in responding. We would wish to highlight some of the conservation aspects of this scheme which we suggest should be addressed by your EIA:

• any loss of linear features
• change in land use from agricultural or sensitive habitat
• infilling and waste disposal
• use of SUDs both in construction and when completed
• access issues especially with reference to rural users and sustainable transport
• wildlife corridors and potential impact on species and habitats as listed in the Northern Ireland Biodiversity Strategy
• potential impact on sensitive areas
