A1 Beech Hill to Cloghogue
6 January 2005 Mr J White Divisional
Roads Manager DRD Marlborough House Central Way Craigavon BT64
1AD Dear Mr White RE: DRD Roads Service - A1 Beech
Hill to Cloghogue Dual Carriageway Thank you for your letter of 22 November
2004 and the opportunity to comment on the above consultation. Our main concern would be the provision
of suitable corridors for movement for both people and wildlife during the improvement process, and
to ensure that local communities do not become 'cut off' from countryside areas and have access to more
sustainable modes of transport than just the private car. In addition Council would advise that the
protection of wildlife should be taken into consideration in the improvement plans, and that any planting
incorporated into landscaping of the project should be of local provenance. We would also recommend
that Roads Service should include SUDS where possible in the proposed road improvement scheme. Yours
Sincerely Dr Lucinda Blakiston Houston Chairman
