Field Visits

The Council has a regular programme of field visits each year. The programme is drawn up between the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) and Council and in many cases the issues will focus on the designation, protection and management of sites. Some of the issues addressed by previous field visits included:

  • Effectiveness of management of ASSIs
  • Agri-environment schemes
  • Impact of quarrying on the countryside
  • Coastal Development
  • Short Rotational Coppicing
